Trust starts with honest limits.

Official warnings stay with national services, missing data is shown as unknown, and we claim only what we can show.

The two lanes never merge on any screen. An official warning belongs to the authority that issues it; a MetOry advisory is a separate interpretation for your context.

  • Level, colour and text are shown on the authority's own scale, unaltered.
  • The issuing authorities keep their role.
  • Unavailable sources are marked as such, never as “no warnings”.

MetOry advisory

Decision support
  • A separate interpretation for your place, your work and your thresholds.
  • Every advisory is traceable to its source, run time and freshness.
  • It is decision support alongside official warnings.
  • It never issues an “all clear”, even when no warning is in force.

Scientific integrity

Why you can trust the process.

Six principles stand behind every screen and every number.

  1. When evidence is missing, risk is shown as unknown.

    Missing data is shown with its own state; a gap is never read as safety.

  2. Agreement is shown as a range.

    Three models agreeing is shown as agreement, never as a calibrated probability.

  3. Official warnings stay separate.

    Level and colour are the authority's own scale; they are never mixed with a MetOry scale.

  4. Every number traces back to its source.

    Institution, product, run time and retrieval time sit beneath every output.

  5. Thresholds prompt decisions; people make them.

    You set the threshold; crossing it is your cue to decide.

  6. Incompatible sources are never silently blended.

    Data with a different time base, resolution or quality meaning is kept apart.

Source attribution does not imply endorsement of MetOry.

Source organisations provide underlying public and scientific data. MetOry is an independent value-added service and is not endorsed by the source organisations.

Some model fields reach MetOry through distribution services such as Open-Meteo. A distributor is named as a distribution layer, never as the originating scientific source.

Source → processing → operational context.

Named sources stay named. MetOry keeps the original identity while reading the evidence for a place, a route or an activity.
